Stainless steel resists corrosion in both wet or dry and has many properties that make it a material of high versatility. The steels are divided into three main groups: martensitic (chromium, relatively high carbon and other elements in small amounts), ferritic (only chrome), austenitic (chromium and nickel, with 2.3% molybdenum).
