Aluminium scrap are avaiable in various quality and forms; they are identified by trading names (different for each country) or by international standard names (for example ISRI).
Aluminium alloys are traded on London Metal Exchange (LME) and its contract is conforming to A380.1, 226 o AD12.1 specifications. Aluminium alloys are in form of ingots, t-bars, small or large sows. Lot size (warrant) is 20 ton (with a +/- 2% tolerance).
High Grade primary aluminium is quoted on London Metal Exchange (LME). Its contract specifies a minimun 99.7% purity, with maximum permissible iron content of 0.20% and maximum permissible silicon content of 0.10%.
The billets of aluminium may be primary or secondary. They can be in various wrought alloys (usually for extrusion), expressed with different standards: 6063, 6060, 6005, 6082, 1070, 1050, etc.
Aluminium wire rods exists in different alloys (6101, 1070, 1050), in different diameters and with different mechanical properties. It is used in drawing or in deoxidation. There are different producers, brands and different lot sizes.
